NFU hosting seed meeting in April

The National Farmers Union says an ancient farming practice is in jeopardy.

The NFU Perth/Oxford Local 341 will host a meeting at the Local Community Food Centre next month about seeds.

The organization says proposed changes to Canada’s Plant Breeders’ Rights Act would prevent farmers from saving, reusing, exchanging and selling seeds in our country.

The changes would transfer power to multinational seed companies.

The NFU wants a ‘Food Act for Farmers’.

They will host a meeting on April 2nd at 7:30pm at 612 Erie Street in Stratford.

The event is open to everyone.

For more information contact NFU member Ann Slater, at [email protected] or 519-349-2448 or The LCFC at 519-508-3663.
