Beattie, Rosemary

Rosemary Ann Beattie passed away peacefully in Stratford General Hospital on Thursday April 28th, 2016. Born on April 20th, 1933 in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Doris Bath. Rosemary immigrated to Canada in 1958. She lived and worked in Toronto before coming with family to the Stratford area. She worked for various companies, including Canada Fab, Stratford Humane Society, Stratford Festival and Stratford General Hospital in the admitting and palliative care departments. Rosemary’s many interests included taking part in Stratford Little Theatre and St. Marys Little Theatre. Her love of all animals was proven by the fact that she never left home without doggie treats in her pocket in case she encountered a canine friend in her travels. Being an avid gardener, if someone told her she couldn`t grow something, Rosemary would grow it simply to prove them wrong. Rosemary enjoyed listening to classical music, could never resist a garage sale and was a frequent customer of the Home Shopping Network. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Larry Beattie , with whom she enjoyed 30 wonderful years. Rosemary will be lovingly remembered by her children; Peter Rice, Michael Rice, Kelly Rice and her husband Ken Dhaliwal. She will also be fondly remembered as the proud and doting grandmother to Mira and Kiran Dhaliwal. Besides her parents, Rosemary was predeceased by her sister, Olive Margaret Barrett. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford Perth Humane Society by calling the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home at 519-271-5062. In memory of Rosemary, a Book of Memories is online at www.jarfh.com
