Huron County Senior hit by Grandparent Scam

The “Grandparent Scam” has hit again.

A Huron County senior was conned out of $2,000 on March 14th after getting a call from someone claiming to be his grandson.

The OPP says the scammer led the victim to believe he’d been in a car accident in the Dominican Republic.

The police are again reminding you to never send money to anyone you don’t know or trust.

Make sure you verify the identity of anyone asking you for money.

You should get in touch with the police or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or online at www.antifraudcentre.ca if you feel like you’ve been scammed.
