Accident leads to arrest of Perth East man

A Perth East man faces multiple charges after police were called to an accident north of Sebringville.

The OPP says officers found a damaged Ford pickup truck on Road 130 just before 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, but couldn’t find the driver.

After a check with nearby homeowners revealed a rash of break-ins and stolen items, footprints in the snow led police to arrest a man at a Huron Road home in Sebringville.

It was later found that the pickup had been reported stolen from London.

The 27-year-old has been hit with seven charges, including three counts of possession of stolen property.

He’s set to appear in court in Stratford on Monday.
