Pettapiece criticizes Liberal funding priorities

Randy Pettapiece criticized the Wynne Government’s funding priorities on Friday.

The Perth-Wellington MPP wondered why the province gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to a celebrity and a major sports organization while local culture groups wait to hear about the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund.

Stratford Summer Music, the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and Drayton Entertainment all received the OCAF grant but its set to expire this spring.

Pettapiece says this contrasts with the $300,000 given to OVO FEST organized by rap artist Drake and the $500,000 awarded to Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment to host the NBA All-Star Game.
