PED spreads to another farm in Ontario

Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea continues its march through Ontario.

Another pig farm confirmed the nasty virus on Friday.

A farrow-to-wean pig farm in Elgin County is the latest casualty of PED.

This brings to 41 the total number of cases in the province.

The disease, which has ravaged millions of piglets in the United States, has also spread to Manitoba, Quebec and PEI.

Closer to home, we’ve seen five cases of PED in Perth County, four in Huron and nine in Oxford.
