County-wide road closures, avoid travelling if you can

All county roads in Perth County have been closed. Director of Public Works John McClelland says the decision has been made because of near zero visibility.

Stratford, Perth County, and the surrounding areas are getting hammered by Old Man Winter today.

The Stratford Police, the County of Perth Public Works and the OPP are all warning people to stay off the roads. Plows have been called off which means snow is going to build up throughout the day.

On top of that visibility is significantly reduced with many areas getting whiteout conditions. That makes for some dangerous driving conditions so if you don’t absolutely have to travel today it’s recommended you stay home.

The following roadways are currently closed in Perth County:

  • All roadways in Perth South
  • All roadways in North Perth
  • All roadways in Perth East
  • All County roadways maintained by the County of Perth.
  • All of Highway 23 in Perth County
  • Huron Road (Highway 8) from Dublin to Stratford
  • Highway 7/8 from Stratford to Kitchener-Waterloo
