Drunk driver who killed Stratford toddler gets eight years in prison

A Kitchener man who killed a Stratford toddler is going to prison for eight years.

A CTV News report says Hugh Brake was sentenced yesterday. The 57-year-old was found guilty last month of six charges including impaired driving causing death.

In March of 2013 Brake, while drunk, crashed a cube van into the back of a car on Highway 7/8, killing 17-month-old Angelina Zhu. The report says the Crown was looking for a sentence of 10 years, while the defence wanted six.
