Perth County OPP says not stopping for a school bus can be costly

The Perth County OPP is reminding drivers to stop for school buses. This comes after police say they’ve gotten several complaints of people passing stopped school buses throughout the county in the last few days.

Not stopping for a bus that has its lights on and stop arm extended can lead to a fine of anywhere between $400 and $2000 for a first offence and six demerit points. The OPP says this law is in place to protect children and that breaking it can be a potentially lethal decision.
