A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged after trying to escape a RIDE checkpoint in Perth South. Police were stopping cars at Perth Road 139 and Road 163 on Friday night. Police say an SUV tried to avoid the area and was stopped by police. The Perth South man driving the vehicle blew over the legal limit and faces a 90-day license suspension. His vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
