Caressant Care in Woodstock has been ordered to stop taking new patients by the Ontario government. That’s the place where former nurse Elizabeth Wettlaufer allegedly killed seven people.
Caressant Care confirmed that the decision is the result of 90 days of inspections by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and that it’s been told to “improve certain practices”. The home says it is making extra efforts to meet or exceed Ministry standards.
Wettlaufer, who’s 49-years-old, is accused of killing eight patients in total and is also facing four counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault. She’s scheduled to make her next appearance in court on February 15th.
