Stratford Police are taking a proactive approach to keeping people with dementia and autism safe. They’ve teamed up with the Alzheimer Society and Autism Ontario in joining the Vulnerable Person Registry.
The VPR lets family members or caregivers upload vital information about their loved ones that the police can use to find them if they go missing. Stratford Police say roughly 60 per cent of people with dementia-related memory problems become lost at some point.
There’s no cost to use the VPR. You can see it for yourself at this website.
