Six recent deaths have prompted a warning from the OPP and the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs. They’re urging snowmobilers to stop taking unnecessary risks.
So far there have been 13 snowmobile fatalities this winter compared to eight this time last year. Although there have been no deaths in Perth County recently there was a crash in December in Dublin that caused major injuries.
The OPP says investigators are linking the deaths to things like riding on unsafe ice, speeding, alcohol and other poor decisions.
