Police warn parents about toy handguns

A realistic toy handgun almost got a young person shot this week in St Thomas.

If your kids have toy guns around the house, you may want to listen up.

Police were called out to a report of young people playing on a hill with a gun.

As it turned out, it was just a toy but the situation was still extremely dangerous.

Police are trained to respond with force to anything that appears capable of serious injury or death like a weapon.

They say toy guns should only be used in a controlled and supervised environment.
