The OPP is urging people to be safe on March Break.
With students having next week off the OPP says drivers should be ready for an increase in the number of kids out and about. That includes the possibility of more foot and bicycle traffic during what are usually school hours.
The OPP says children should know their full names, addresses, and phone numbers as well as their caregivers’ contact information and how to use 911. The OPP says youth who are home alone should keep the doors locked and only open the door for people they’re expecting and who have their guardians’ permission to be there.
They’re also recommending setting up a central, easy-to-locate spot to meet for check-ins or if you get separated while on family outings.
