More distracted driving charges laid during March Break blitz

It seems as though some people never learn.

The Perth County OPP says they laid 34 charges during last week’s March Break distracted driving blitz. That’s up from 31 during the same campaign last year.

Constable Mike Melnychuk says they’re asking passengers to help stop distracted driving by speaking up:

Melnychuk says distracted driving isn’t just using your phone:

Across the province officers laid more 2,400 distraction-related charges during the campaign. So far this year 11 people have been killed in crashes related to distracted driving, compared to just four at this time last year. That’s more than speeding, impaired driving, and not wearing a seat belt.
