Volunteers at the New Hamburg Thrift Centre got a big surprise.
They found an original Maud Lewis painting while sorting through regular donations. Lewis is one of Canada’s best known folk artists.
The painting is called Portrait of Eddie Barnes and Ed Murphy, Lobster Fishermen, Bay View, N.S.
The Mennonite Central Committee says it’s going to be auctioned off to support its relief, development, and peacebuilding work. You can find more details about the auction at this website.
