Campaign chair Andrew Williams says at that event they announced they raised a ton of cash:
Williams says it’s important for people to understand how many people the United Way helps:
Executive Director Ryan Erb says the United Way was able to support 47 different community partners this year, launched i-VOLUNTEER Perth-Huron, opened Crossing Bridges for at risk youth in Listowel, and helped the Local Community Food Centre reach sustainability and graduate as a stand-alone charity.
The United Way did however fall short of its $1.3 million goal meaning they won’t be able to open a newcomer support program or extend The John Howard Society’s positive re-integration program at the Stratford Jail.
