County of Perth gets new tartan to mark Sesquicentennial

As of today the County of Perth has a new tartan.

It launched officially this morning at the Stratford Perth Museum. The launch coincides with National Tartan Day.

The county says the new tartan is part of its Sesquicentennial celebrations. The colours, green, blue, red, and gold, are taken from the Perth County Crest from the 1800s and the Perth County logo from 2009 to reflect the past and the present.

The county says the colours each represent a different aspect of the area. The green is for agriculture, the blue is for the many rivers and creeks, the red is for the blood sacrificed by early settlers and veterans and the gold symbolizes the industrious nature of the people who live in Perth County.
