Unemployment rate rises for second month in a row

The unemployment rate in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula rose for the second straight month.

The Four County Labour Market Planning Board says it went up to 6.8 per cent in March from 6.3 per cent in February. Across Ontario there was a slightly lower increase of 0.3 per cent to 6.5 per cent.

Overall in March the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula had a net loss of 3,700 jobs with the biggest drop in retail which saw a decrease of 2,100.
