Tests confirm bootleg fentanyl has reached Woodstock

Woodstock Police are confirming bootleg Fentanyl has reached the city. Police say two samples of a powdered substance tested by Health Canada confirmed they were the opioid.

In the first incident back in October the bootlegged drug was being sold under the street name “popcorn”. Police say in the second incident it may have been passed off as heroin.

Four other drug seizures believed to be fentanyl have been sent to Health Canada for testing.
