Hillside Manor near Mitchell is shutting down.
Revera, the long-term care home’s parent company, says the aging building’s infrastructure isn’t suited to the numerous renovations it would need to be brought up to modern standards.
The company is instead building a new facility in London. It says Hillside Manor will stay open until that place is built, at which point 38 of Hillside’s bed licenses will be moved there. The remaining 52 will be moved to other area redevelopments.
Revera expects it should take three to four years to finish the London facility.
