Woodstock Hospital is adding a feather to its cap. It’s become the first regional hospital in Canada to integrate electronic health records on bedside monitors.
The interface collects patient data from the vital signs monitor. The hospital says nurses can check the vital signs information and validate it before sending it off to the EHR.
The post anesthesia care unit was the first to go live with the system. The system will be integrated into the other areas of the hospital and will be rolled out to other hospitals in the region by the end of summer.
