Dozens of men ‘Walk-a-Mile in Her Shoes’

Dozens of local men in red high heels took over the Festival Marketplace Shopping Centre on Saturday.

The annual Walk-a-Mile in her Shoes fundraiser for Optimism Place was a big success.

Fern Sharp works at the women’s shelter and helped organize the event.

She says they were one of the first in Canada to do this fundraiser but it has since spread.

She says more and more men take part every year because it’s a good cause but also because it’s fun.
