Paul Nickel dies over the weekend

Dan Mathieson says Paul Nickel’s death is a loss to the city.

The Stratford Mayor added that Nickel touched many lives throughout his career.

The long-time educator and two-term City Councillor passed away Saturday at his home.

Mathieson says it’s a sad time for everyone.

Mathieson says Nickel made a difference and touched a lot of people in his lifetime.

Flags flew at half-mast over the weekend in honour of Nickel.

There is a book of condolences in the City Hall rotunda for people to sign.
