Minor sports awards handed out

This Stratford Minor Sports Council has announced this year’s awards winners.

Jack Reilly took home Boy Athlete of the Year, Mia Valcke got Girl Athlete of the Year and Don Grasby was named Sportsperson of the Year. The winners were unveiled at Saturday’s annual Minor Sports Banquet.

The council also held this year’s Sports Wall of Fame induction ceremony that night. This year’s inductees were Dave Hunt for his accomplishments in Judo, the 1938-40 Stratford Nationals, Ingrid Newbury as a builder and Frank Rankin and Danny Lewicki in the Legends category.
