Pettapiece blasts government over Hillside Manor closure

Randy Pettapiece is criticizing the decision to close Hillside Manor.

The Perth-Wellington MPP has written a letter to Ontario’s Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Eric Hoskins. In it he says that any proposal to transfer long-term care bed licences out of the area should be rejected outright.

Revera, the company that owns Hillside Manor, is planning on moving 38 of its bed licences to a new London facility after that place is built.

In that letter Pettapiece says the government needs to answer questions like why the government accepted the application to consider the bed transfer and give detailed information on the evaluation process. He also wrote about his concern about the risk of losing beds in the area in the future due to a combination of expiring licences and lack of investment from the province.
