PDHU discusses government’s stricter vaccination requirements

The government has made three more vaccines a requirement for students in Ontario.

It was announced yesterday that proof of vaccinations against meningococcal disease and whooping cough will be needed, as will a chickenpox vaccine for kids born after 2010.

Larry Morrell with the Perth District Health Unit tells us just how serious these diseases can be:

Morrell reminds people that vaccines are safe:

The new requirements are on top of the existing immunization requirements for tetanus, diphtheria, polio and mumps.
