Perth County OPP looks back on Easter weekend crackdown

The OPP Easter traffic crackdown is over.

Constable Kees Wijnands says local residents didn’t do too badly on the whole.

Wijnands says the weekend opened badly Friday with a deadly crash in West Perth.

The Big Four are drunk driving, distracted driving, speeding and seatbelts.

Wijnands says they nailed 25 drivers for not wearing their seatbelt which is disappointing.

Police only caught one distracted driver.

Constable Kees Wijnands says there are many reasons for that.

The Perth County OPP charged two impaired drivers, 65 speeders, 25 seatbelt violators and one distracted driver.
