Local residents avoid gas price hikes

Local residents avoided the worst of yesterday’s gas price hike.

Motorists across the country were zapped at the pumps as prices hit a three year high in many places.

However, local rates remained relatively flat and still hover between 134.5 and 135.9 a litre as of this morning.

Despite that, gas prices are on average 17 cents higher per litre today than they were one year ago in the province.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is being blamed for the soaring gas prices.
