Scammers Posing as CRA Representatives Making Their Rounds on Stratford Phone Lines

Do not call 1-866-217-8175 if you want to protect your personal and financial information.

That’s the number being provided to residents in the Stratford area by a fraudster posing as a representative of the Canada Revenue Agency.

This is what a fraudulent call sounds like:

Constable Dave Stewart says there are a number of red flags signalling you could be dealing with a scam.

He says if someone is using high pressure tactics to get money or information you should hang up, verify the caller or call police.
