MP Addresses how NAFTA Negotiations Could Impact Local Agriculture

Perth-Wellington MP John Nater says the U-S Commerce Department’s NAFTA wish list could have an impact on farmers and agriculture in the region.

Nater says the region is agriculturally diverse in that there are dairy, meat and produce farmers across it.

He says Canada’s entire agriculture sector has been on edge since U-S President Donald Trump took aim at dairy farmers earlier this year.

The U-S remains Canada’s biggest trading partner, with Perth-Wellington farms and producers doing business with at least 30 states on a regular basis.
