License Plate Based Parking Meters Introduced Downtown

You can now punch in your license plate to new machines if you’re parking in downtown Stratford.

Five new pay machines have been installed in the city’s Kalbfleisch, Market Place and Erie lots.

The new plate-based system will make it easier for both drivers and by-law enforcement as they will now simply search for plate numbers via their smart phones.

The city says the new machines could open the door to more modern enforcement such as vehicles equipped with license plate scanners that simply need to drive by parked vehicles.
