OPP Receive Multiple Calls for Pets Locked in Vehicles

Local police are joining the OSPCA in reminding you pets do not belong in hot vehicles over the summer time.

Both the Oxford and Perth County OPP say they have seen an increase in calls to animals in distress locked in hot vehicles in the last few weeks.

Police say if it’s 26 outside, the temperature inside your vehicle could top 32, even more if the sun is out.

You can even face jail time if charged with neglect, or endangering an animal.
