Perth County OPP Sees Steady Increase of `Move Over` Charges

The OPP says it’s seen a steady increase in move over charges since 2011.

Police in Perth County say they have also seen an increase in related charges and collisions with either police vehicles or first responders.

The charges come from either not slowing down or moving over for emergency vehicles while they’re responding to calls.

The OPP says across Ontario more than 2,400 charges were laid in 2016 compared to around 1,200 in 2011.
