Nick Saul visits LCFC Saturday

The Local Community Food Centre was a busy place this weekend.

The man who created the new vision for tackling food injustice was in Stratford Saturday.

Nick Saul visited the Erie Street location and director Steve Stacey says it was well-attended.

The LCFC is based on the model Saul pioneered in Toronto.

Stacey says it was inspiring to hear Saul shares his stories.

Stacey says there are obvious differences in running a food centre in rural setting versus and urban setting but he says the need for hope and connection is universal.

The food centre’s annual Garden Party fundraiser was also held Saturday night.

Over 80 people turned out.

You can buy Nick Saul’s book ‘The Stop’ at Fanfare Books in Stratford.
