Governor General Recognizes Stratford Perth Community Foundation

The Stratford-Perth Community Foundation is being commended by Canada’s Governor General for their response to a challenge he issued.

Executive Director of the foundation Tracy Van Kalsbeek says the Smart and Caring Communities initiative has surpassed expectations.

She says more than $340,000 has been raised in the last two years for the funds centred in six municipalities.

Van Kalsbeek says the foundation is lucky to work with such involved communities who have given generously.

Grants have gone to the Big Brother, Big Sisters of Listowel and District, the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority, Milverton Public School and many others.
