PDHU Dietician Part of Provincial Team Looking at Eating Habits

A local dietitian is part of a team of nutrition experts put together by the province to study our eating habits.

The Perth District Health Unit says the study ties into everything from child and youth eating to helping to prevent obesity.

Registered Dietitian Shannon Edmonstone says the research looks at factors like general knowledge for the public, buying habits along with how we cook and prepare our meals.

She says it’s about improving food literacy for all of us.

Researchers also looked at what can reduce the risk of conditions like chronic diseases such as diabetes or heart problems.
