Two More Mosquito Traps Come Back Positive for West Nile in Perth County

The Perth District Health Unit says it’s found more positive tests for West Nile Virus in the region.

This time from traps in Mitchell and Listowel, making them the fourth and fifth pools to come back positive.

Senior Public Health Inspector Dale Lyttle says cases have been increasing in Ontario and the findings are not surprising.

Public Health Inspector Stephanie Carlisle says this is usually the time of year the area sees positive tests.

She says the best ways to prevent exposure are to cover up when you’re outside, make sure you’re wearing insect repellent with DEET and wearing light coloured clothing.
