Stratford is one of four communities to implement a new pilot project. The Philadelphia Model is coming to Stratford thanks to funding from the Status of Women Canada. Stratford Police are teaming up with Optimism Place Women’s Shelter and Support Services and groups from Ottawa to put the model in place. Specialists will be brought in to review sexual assault cases and help with police investigations. The model will be put in place immediately with police training and specialist selection in the coming months.
