County First Responders to Attend Hazardous Waste Training Workshops

Municipal officials will be joining more than 100 emergency responders from Perth County for a number of hazardous material workshops.

The county’s Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Colvin says it’s part of the preparedness needed by emergency responders to keep themselves and others safe.

Colvin says there are a number of hazardous materials which are moved through the area by vehicle such as pesticides used in agriculture, gasoline or oil or industrial cleaning chemicals.

He says it’s incredibly relevant given just a few weeks ago a transport carrying petrol rolled over in Stratford.
