Reps from Union Gas appeared before Perth County Council today with an urgent request to purchase a plot of land.
The plot is needed to build the infrastructure which will bring natural gas services to Perth East.
Councillors expressed concerns over the positioning of the plot as it sat in the middle of municipal property, requiring the existing county works yard roadway to gain access.
Council amended its recommendation asking Union Gas to move the site and create access within existing by-laws.
The tentative price for the purchase by Union Gas is set at $20,000.
It’s part of the plan to bring natural gas services to Milverton by December with Rostock and Wartburg expecting it by the middle of next year.
