Cooling Centres Set Up as Heat Warning Extended

If you’re looking to beat the heat today cooling centres have been set up in the area at the Kiwanis Centre in Stratford, the Stratford Public Library, Festival Marketplace and the Pyramid Centre in St. Mary’s.

Environment Canada has extended heat warnings for much of south western Ontario today.

Temperatures are expected to top the thirties today with the possibility of the humidex climbing into the forties.

The Perth District Health Unit says children, seniors, anyone with a chronic disease and pregnant women are at the most risk during high temperatures.

Environment Canada the heat is expected to break later Wednesday as a cold front will be moving through the region.
