Huron County Reports Surplus Heading into 2018 Budget

Huron County will be heading into 2018 with a surplus of more than $350,000.

County Treasurer Michael Blumhagen says the actual number is much higher due to timing the county’s current position in tenders and expenses.

He says it’s important council doesn’t have any surprises when they head into the budget process, the number before expenditures sits at around $1.4 million today.

The county also registered a surplus last year of $353,000.
