Pettapiece: Community Support Will be Crucial in Hillside Decision

Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece says discussion is remaining positive with the Ministry of Long Term Care and Revera Homes in attempting to keep the doors open at Hillside Manor.

The Sebringville Community Centre was host to a packed house of residents, many opposed to the loss of the 90 long-term care beds, as part of the second of two public consultations.

Pettapiece says the decision, which hasn’t yet been made, involves more than just the ministry.

He says provincial health leaders and the long-term care industry must prepare for the imminent boom of seniors who will need access to nursing homes and palliative care.

Pettapiece says if you missed out on last night’s meeting you can still submit feedback to the ministry or through his constituency office.

You can contact the ministry here.
