Nater: Federal Tax Changes Could Have Big Impact on Local Business

Perth Wellington MPP John Nater says proposed tax changes by the federal government don’t just stand to have an impact on local businesses but also on family doctors.

Ottawa has faced weeks of criticism from entrepreneur, small business and other corporate groups over some of the potential reforms.

Finance Minister Bill Morneau says the changes target potential for the wealthy to incorporate in order to pay lower taxes.

Nater says local physicians and businesses are looking south of the border more and more, despite the exchange rate.

He says family doctors could be hit hard by the changes.

Morneau says changes are needed to the reforms, but hasn’t provided specifics.
