Police Catch up with Man Wanted in Relation to Listowel Incident

The Huron County OPP says a 33-year-old suspect wanted on a regional arrest warrant has been taken into custody.

The suspect is wanted in relation to a recent incident in Listowel where a man assaulted a police officer, stole the officer’s vehicle and then crashed it before taking off on foot.

The 33-year-old is also wanted on charges by Sarnia Police.

The OPP says its canine and air units along with a group of unmarked cruisers were used in catching up with the wanted man.

The suspect is in custody and is facing numerous charges including vehicle theft and assaulting an officer in Perth and Huron counties.
