Union Resumes Talks with GM Over CAMI Worker Strike

Talks have resumed between GM and the union representing 2,800 workers currently striking at Ingersoll’s CAMI assembly plant.

The union says talks have progressed in terms of contract language however job security and economic issues are continuing to tie up the talks.

So far Unifor Local 88’s president says the union is staying optimistic as long as both sides remain at the bargaining table.

Workers are fighting back against G-M’s plan to move part of the plant’s workload to Mexico to produce the Chevy Eqinox.
