Man charged after people unknowingly eat pot brownies

A West Perth man is facing charges after some people got sick from eating brownies.

The Perth County OPP says five people felt ill after eating a meal at a gathering in Mitchell back in March.

All five tested positive for THC, the main intoxicant in marijuana.

Police say brownies that had been left out as desert were the source of the THC.

The 42-year-old who brought the brownies has been charged with five counts of administering a noxious thing and trafficking under 3kg of marijuana.

He has a court date set for next week in Stratford.
