Huron County OPP Sees Spike in Drones Flying into Private Property

The Huron County OPP wants you to be responsible and aware of the rules when flying your drones, UAVs or model aircraft.

Acting Staff Sergeant Wendy Burrow says police have seen a spike in calls from rural residents, sometimes reporting multiple drones flying through or over their property.

She says while safety is a big concern, so is protecting the privacy of residents.

Transport Canada has rolled out a number of regulations over the last few years such as requirements to stay away from airports, flying below 90 metres off the ground and only flying during daytime hours.
